Wellesley Launches Power to $ave Campaign

Following last year's successful renewable energy campaign, the town is hoping to for just a few hundred homes looked at for energy efficiency. 

The Power to Save campaign announced its official launch yesterday in a press release, after organizers provided some teasers at last week's Board of Selectmen meeting.

“Each of us has the power to save money AND do something to save the planet at the same time,” said Ellen Korpi, Chair of the Wellesley Sustainable Energy Committee in a press release issued yesterday.

This year, the goal is to get 400 Wellesley homeowners to try the no-cost home assessment according to a press release. After that, connect those residents to resources so they can save energy and money by making improvements.

"We applaud the town of Wellesley and its residents for sharing that passion with us and going the extra mile to reduce their carbon footprint."

Power to Save follows up from last year's initiative the Power to Choose program, for which over 1,000 Wellesley residents volunteered to be a part. All three of the colleges in Wellesley also signed on to the campaign.
