Was it the Right Decision to Keep Schools Open Monday?

Both Needham and Wellesley schools are open, with a two-hour delay. Was this the right call for the towns?

After the Friday-Saturday blizzard dumped nearly two feet of snow on Needham and Wellesley, officials announced Sunday night that school will be open on Monday, Feb. 11.  After the announcement was made, several parents and teachers took to social media to express their opinions on the decision to cancel school. Here's a sampling of what we saw: @R2_SNEweather NEEDHAM Ma TOWN OFFICIALS, W/ Part of your TOWN without Power and Sidewalks a mess... Cancel school...No Excuse !  @avens98 Needham is literally the only town that still has school tomorrow. What is this. @abbyglassenberg Please let there be school tomorrow. Craig, if the sidewalks are impassible, as a rule, there should not be school. You are right, I did not read an email from the superintendent, I just noticed the kids in the neighborhood walking in the street to avoid the sidewalk plow.   more ›
