Wellesley Police Looking Into Sunday Night Crash on Route 9

Early Sunday morning, police respond to a serious one-car crash on Route 9.

Just after 1 a.m., police receive report ofa vehicle off the road. A Chrysler 300 appeared to have run into a tree, and was off the road, according to a video on the Wellesley Police website.  The driver was reportedly alright, but a female passenger in the car was trapped inside the car. Wellesley Fire Department used the Jaws of life to free the woman, who was then taken by Medflight to a nearby hospital. The driver had minor injuries, he was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Police are investigating the incident, but report that the preliminary investigation shows the car left the roadway, hit a curb, and then ran into the tree.

Traffic Alert: Four-Car Crash on Westgate Road, Wellesley

Traffic slowed due to an injury in a four-car crash, with a reported fluid spill.

  Police and fire responded just before 8 a.m. to a four-car crash on Route 9 westbound, the intersection with Westgate Road, causing delays.  Scanners report one injury and fluids spilled in the roadway. Three cars will be towed from the scene. SigAlert (formerly SmartTraveler) reports the left lane is blocked by the crash.
