Newton-Wellesley Hospital Restricting Visitors Due to Flu

The hospital is hoping to keep visitors at a minimum during the flu outbreak.

With a flu epidemic affecting much of the country, local hospitals are hoping to protect their patients by keeping visits to a minimum.  Newton-Wellesley Hospital has put in place a number of visitor restrictions to help limit the spread of the flu virus, according to the hospital's website. With the flu season looking far more severe than last year, Wellesley Health Department and others are seeking to spread the word about flu shots.

Here's where to get an influenza vaccine, how to recognize symptoms and what to know about treatment if you get sick.

Flu season is coming early in parts of the United States: This time last year, flu cases were lower in Wellesley than they are now, according to data on Google's Flu Trends.
