Wellesley Police Call Stats: Four Commercial Break-ins

Wellesley Police statistics indicate highest number of 2013 arrests in May.

  So far in 2013, six businesses in Wellesley have been broken into. Of those, four happened in the month of May. The Police Department released their May call stats last week. In the month of May, the Wellesley Police Department received about 49 calls a day on average, up a little bit from April--but still not quite as many as in November and December of last year.  The month of May also had the highest number of arrests thus far this year, with 23 brought into custody.  While the year-to-date numbers thus far look close to those in 2012, it is still impossible to say how the rest of the year will look. Although comparing the previous four years' worth of calls and arrests shows a decrease in criminal complaints over the last five years…

Wellesley Police Make 17 Arrests in December

Call stats show that Police made 6 more arrests in December than in November (11). Number of break-ins the same for both months, two each.

See the video, right, for more. Feb. 11] On average, people were calling the Wellesley Policewere called about 2,090 times in November (roughly 70 calls per day) and 1,974 in December (about 64 calls a day)--for everything from medical emergencies to break-ins.  According to stats released by the Wellesley Police Department, there were 17 arrests in December and 11 in November. Police also responded to two break-ins in the two months: one commercial and one residential in November, both in December were residential.
