Tree Blocks Route 16 at Wellesley-Natick Line
Since cleared, police issued a traffic alert at about 6:15 a.m. warning of a tree and power lines down at Pond St. on Route 16.
A tree came down across Route 16 eastbound, pulling down wires and clogging up the morning commute for some drivers. While the road is now clear, police issued an alert at about 6:15 a.m. warning of the tree at Pond Road and warning that drivers may be diverted up Route 135. According to the Wellesley Police Department, "High winds have brought down a tree and electrical wires in the 800 block of Washington St (Rt. 16). WMLP and the Wellesley Tree Dept are on scene removing the tree. Power in the area may be lost in this area due to the work."
