Wellesley Police Dressing Town Boston Strong

The Wellesley Police Department announced they will sell specially-designed Boston Strong t-shirts to benefit The One Fund.

  Wellesley Police Department have walked, run, and responded to the Boston Marathon--and are now selling for it. Wellesley Police are now selling special Boston Strong t-shirts from the station. According to an announcement on the Wellesley Police website, these shirts are selling fast.  Each one is $20, and the proceeds from the shirt will go to The One Fund Boston, a charity dedicated to the victims of the marathon bombing.  The shirts were designed by the department, and are available from size small to size 3XL. The front of the shirt has the department patch on the upper left, and a large panel on the back with the line Boston Strong, and the names of the victims of the attack: Martin Richard, Krystle Campbell, Lingzi Lu, and MIT …

Wellesley Police Ran, Responded to Marathon Bombing

Three members of the Department ran in the marathon this year.

  The Boston Marathon route in Wellesley was re-opening to road traffic at about 2:30 p.m., and the bombing in Boston was about 20 minutes later.  A new Wellesley Police news update provides a behind-the-scenes look at Marathon preparation, and shares some of the WPD response to the bombing in Copley Square.  The day began normally, with a joint briefing between Wellesley officers and the Army National Guard. The video reports that the race itself was more or less incident free as it passed through Wellesley--home of the Scream Tunnel. Chief Terrence Cunningham and a task force of WPD officers drove directly to Boston to assist with efforts there, as soon as they heard about the explosions. Wellesley Police Log: Chase Through Natick Yields Marijuana Bust

The following information was supplied by the Wellesley Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following reports were provided by the Wellesley Police Department. Charges where mentioned do not indicate a conviction.  Officer Derby reportedly saw a grey Honda commit motor vehicle violation, and attempted to pull the vehicle over near the Natick line, 10:45 p.m. on Jan. 29. Rather than stopping, the car then fled into Natick on Route 9, then into Framingham and eventually stopped when it ran into a curb. Two men fled the vehicle on foot.  Inside the car, which police later learned was stolen, they located "a sizeable amount of marijuana," according to a Wellesley Police web news update recently posted.
