A female passenger was airlifted to Tufts Medical Center in Boston early this morning after she sustained serious injuries in a crash on Route 9 in Wellesley. The one-car crash occurred just after 1 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Route 9 east and Woodbine Road, according to Wellesley Police. When Wellesley Police and Fire crews arrived scene Sunday morning, they found a Chrysler 300 sedan with heavy front-end damage and the passenger of the vehicle seriously trapped inside the car. Using the Jaws of Life, firefighters spent roughly 20 minutes extricating the passenger from the car, police said. Changing Lanes While Officer Cunningham was on Washington Street at about 9:45 p.m., eastbound near State Street. He saw a vehicle swerve unsafely, and pulled the car over. The driver, a New Bedford resident, Adam Reis, age 23, told police that he was unfamiliar with the area. Police learned that he had a suspended license. He was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license and making an unsafe lane change. THe next morning, he was transported to Dedham District Court. No Bad Publicity On March 31, police received a report of a landscaper who had been distributing fliers around town, placed inside a plastic bag with a few rocks in them. The reporting caller said he was concerned of the rocks getting caught in a snow-blower or lawnmower, and noted he had had issues with these fliers in the past. These fliers had been distributed in the past, and the business has received town bylaw violations in the past as a result. Police also learned that the owner of the business had a suspended license. Street Party At about 11 p.m., a Willow Street resident complained that there were a number of people gathering on the street, causing a disturbance. When Officer Derby arrived on scene, he reported seeing a number of emtpy beer cans and bottles scattered across the lawn, and the smell of alcohol hung in the air. After speaking with the resident, he determined that a number of the people in the party were underaged. Police took 17-year-old Blake Ewanewski of of Willow Street into custody, and charged him with possessing alcohol while being under 21, and providing alcohol to kids under 21. Officer Derby helped them located a Nicholas Sheridan of Lowell, age 22, who police located on Mayo Road, 7:45 p.m. on March 25. They brought him to the station and courtesy booked him before transferring him to Lowell Police custody. They were seeking charges on a restraining order violation. Seen these guys? Police think they shoplifted a couple of sweaters. Earlier this week, Mass Most Wanted posted these photos of two men who the Wellesley Police Department believe were involved in a shoplifting case toward the end of December. According to the post, on Christmas Eve (Dec 24), the two white men, believed to be between 55 and 60 years old, entered a clothing store. The taller of the two men (believed to be between 6' and 6'2") spoke to a clerk while the other man (between 5'9" and 5'11") took out a shopping bag and placed two sweaters inside. When they were confronted, they fled the store. Earlier this week (March 26), a pair matching that description went into a store downtown and attepted to use a similar technique. …

Fake Prescriptions Police were dispatched to the CVS Pharmacy on Linden Street for a report of a customer attempting to fill a questionable prescription. Officer Brooks arrived on the scene before 2 p.m. on March 23. The pharmacist identified a woman at the store, and told police that something seemed incorrect about the scrip she was trying to fill, which is when he contacted the issuing doctor, whose office said they had not written a prescription for the woman. While watching traffic on Route 9, they saw a red Dodge. They checked the license plate and determined the registered owner had a default warrant.
