Police Chase Suspect Wanted for Cocaine Distribution

The following information was supplied by the Wellesley Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police Pursue Man Wanted for Distributing Cocaine Police chased and then arrested a suspect wanted for distributing cocaine last week. Joe Simmons, 25, of 120 George St. Apt. #3 Roxbury was arrested after a short foot chase April 12 when Wellesley Police officers and detectives located him in a vehicle near 4 Cedar St. When police arrived at the scene, Simmons jumped from the vehicle, knocking off the side view mirror of one of the Wellesley Police cruisers, and took off on foot, according to Wellesley Police records clerk Sue Morse. Police eventually caught up to Simmons and placed him under arrest. Simmons, who had a warrant out for his arrest for possession and distribution of cocaine near a park or school out of Dedham District Court, …

Police Log: Teenager Arrested With Alcohol; Loud Muffler Leads to Arrest

Suspicious Person Said He Was In Area for a Job Interview, Arrested on Warrant-Related Charges A Stoughton man was arrested on warrant-related charges last week after he told police he was lurking on Linden Street because he was in town for a job interview. Responding to a call about a suspicious person, Wellesley Police officer Officer Mark Carrasquillo went to 270 Linden St. July 25 where he found William Kenneth Curtin, 25. Carrasquillo did a routine check on Curtin’s license, which showed that he had an outstanding warrant out of Brockton District Court for shoplifting, according to Wellesley Police records clerk Sue Morse. Police Log: Three Warrant-Related Arrests Last Week

The following arrest information was supplied by the Wellesley Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Man Pulled Over for Driving an Unregistered Vehicle, Arrested on Three Warrants A Waltham man was arrested in Wellesley last week on three outstanding warrants. William A. Hines, 39, was driving on Route 9 at a very slow speed July 10, according to Wellesley Police records clerk Sue Morse. Officer Nate Derby, traveling behind the vehicle, checked the car’s registration. The computer found no match, thus indicating that the vehicle, which had California plates, was unregistered. Derby stopped the vehicle and asked for Hines’ license. A check revealed there were three warrants out for Hines. One for felonious breaking and entering at night and larceny over $250 out of Peabody District Court, another out of Lynn District Court for the same …

Window Tints Lead to Court Summons A Milford man will go before a court clerk because his car windows were too dark. Luis Saiteros Quito, 24, was driving in the area of Washington Street and Wellesley Avenue May 17 at around 8 p.m. when Wellesley Police officer Matt Farwell, on patrol in the area, noticed that the tint of the windows of Quito’s vehicle were darker than the allowable 35 percent of visible light, according to Lt. Marie Cleary of the Wellesley Police Department. Farwell, using a light meter, determined that Quito’s windows had only 17 percent light reflectance, Cleary said. Upon a license check, Farwell learned there was a warrant out of Dedham District Court for Quito’s arrest. Quito was taken into custody and told he would …

There were two people arrested in Wellesley last week.

Unsecure Trailer Leads to Arrest A man traveling on Route 9 last Thursday was pulled over and arrested after an officer observed that a trailer unit was not properly secured to the pickup truck towing it. Juan J. Figueroa, 28, of Waltham, was traveling on Route 9 near the Wellesley Hills Gulf Station when Officer Chris Cunningham observed that a trailer attachment was traveling in the breakdown lane due to a defect, according to Wellesley Police records clerk Sue Morse. Upon inspection of the trailer, Cunningham observed three gas cans and a motorized walk unit were not properly secured, according to Morse. Figueroa also could not produce a driver’s license. Police Arrests April 4-10

Wellesley cops made three drunk driving arrests and found steroids in the glove box of a car with a missing license plate and an expired inspection sticker.

Warrant Apprehension Team arrests Newton woman wanted for larceny On April 6, at 2:52 p.m., Ariana Mataev, 23, of Newton was arrested on a warrant for larceny over $250. The Wellesley Police Department Warrant Apprehension Team executed the warrant, issued by Dedham District Court, at Mataev’s home. She was bailed on personal recognizance. Westwood woman arrested on warrant for two counts of larceny On April 6, at 6:09 p.m., Paige M. DiGiacomo, 22, of Westwood was arrested on a warrant for larceny over $250 and larceny under $250. The WPD Warrant Apprehension Team executed the warrant, issued by Dedham District Court, at DiGiacomo’s home. She was bailed on personal recognizance. Police Arrests March 28-April 3

A Quincy man weaving along Route 9 in the wee hours of Thursday morning already had been arrested three times for drunk driving.

Quincy man arrested for fourth drunk driving offense On March 31, at 1:23 a.m., Timothy J. McCluskey, 50, of Quincy was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, fourth offense. A Wellesley Police officer patrolling Worcester Street observed a car, driven by McCluskey, swerving from lane to lane and stopped it, according to a police report. The officer noted McCluskey’s breath smelled of alcohol and that he leaned against the vehicle to steady himself, when asked to step out of the car. McCluskey failed three field sobriety tests. McCluskey did not meet his $2,500 bail and was transported to Dedham District Court after the arrest. Wakefield woman was the target of a warrant for OUI On March 31, at 2:33 p.m., …

Local cops arrested an alleged drunk driver speeding along Washington Street during the wee hours of Saturday morning two weeks ago.

Natick woman arrested for writing bad checks to court On Feb. 28, at 7:10 p.m., Joan Marie Berdan, 53, of Waltham was arrested on a warrant for larceny over $250. An officer patrolling Route 9 performed a random query of the vehicle in front of him and learned the registered owner of the car, Berdan, was the target of a warrant from Natick District Court, according to a police report. Berdan, who was at the wheel, was wanted for writing bad checks to that court. The officer stopped the car and arrested Berdan, who was released on $600 bail. Man who made illegal right turn onto Oakland Street was wanted for larceny On March 1, at 11:52 a.m., Jaleel Heath, 38, of Boston was arrested on a warrant for larceny and uttering a false check. The driver of a car with an expired sticker went uncited, but his passenger was arrested on a warrant for larceny and later found to have cocaine on her person.

Passenger of car with expired sticker was target of warrant, had cocaine in her possession On Feb. 21, at 3:10 a.m., Jeanne T. Sherman, 50, of Framingham was arrested on a warrant for larceny under $250. She was also charged with possession of a Class B substance, subsequent offense. An officer patrolling Route 9 performed a random query of the license plate of the car in front of him, according to a police report, and discovered the vehicle’s inspection sticker had expired. After stopping the car, the officer noticed the passenger, Sherman, was not wearing her seatbelt and asked to see her license. Sherman was the target of a warrant from Hingham District Court. Police Arrests Feb. 14-20

A Waltham man allegedly driving drunk along Route 9 at 2 a.m. was unlicensed.

Driver with revoked license gave police a false name On Feb. 14, at 3 p.m., Derek Buchino, 30, of Marlborough was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle on a revoked license and providing a false name to a police officer. An officer on patrol in the area of Martin Road observed a car without a front license plate and stopped it, according to a police report. The driver, Buchino, was not the registered owner of the vehicle but gave the owner’s name as his own, according to the report. The officer learned Buchino had given a false name when Buchino’s face did not match the photo of the owner in the Registry of Motor Vehicles' database. Buchino was released on $250 bail.
