Wellesley Associated with ‘Scumbag Steve’

An arrest last fall created a buzz on the internet this morning.

Wellesley Patch readers have been talking about a local connection to a person whose likeness is an internet sensation. Last November, Wellesley Patch reported the arrest of Blake Boston of 60 Orchard St., Millis. Boston was arrested at his job on Williams Street in Wellesley Nov. 15 on an outstanding warrant for larceny of a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon and intimidation of a witness. Today, a post on Reddit.com indicated that Boston is the likeness for the internet meme known as “Scumbag Steve.” The meme is a photo of Boston, now 21, as a 16-year-old with witty block-letter text.
