The incident occurred Thursday.
Wellesley Police are investigating a Thursday afternoon school bus crash. According to the Wellesley Police Department’s website, the bus crashed into a tree on the island that divides the east and westbound lanes of Great Plain Avenue. “The bus apparently lost control while going from Brook Street to Great Plain Avenue east,” according to the site. The bus had to be winched out, according to the site. The bus was empty except for the driver.
