Wellesley Traffic Alert: Gas Leak on Weston Road

Police say there will be "extensive delays" on Weston Road because of a gas leak which developed yesterday.

  The Police say you can expect "extensive" delays on Weston Road today, near the Fells block, due to a natural gas leak. National Grid crews will be on scene to repair the leak, and according to the announcement sent out by the Police this morning, you may be able to smell natural gas in the area until the leak is fixed. Crews have been working overnight, and will continue to work in the area throughout the day. Below is the full alert sent by the Wellesley Police Department: National Grid crews are going to be repairing a natural gas leak on Weston Road at Cleveland Road near the Fells block today.  This leak developed yesterday and crews have been working through the night to repair it.  You may notice an odor of natural gas in this …

Gas Main Struck at Rockland Street Bridge; Roads Closed

Wellesley Police are reporting a natural gas main has been struck in the Rockland Street area.

Crews are shutting down natural gas on Rockland Street after a gas main was struck in the area. Wellesley Police have closed Linden Street between Kirkland Street and Route 9 as officials repair the leak. "There is a strong smell of natural gas in the area," according to a police alert. Trains on the CSX line and MBTA have been halted the release says. Police expect the situation to be resolved shortly.
