National Grid has confirmed that barring inclement weather, the work should end this month.
For those tired of the detours on Woodlawn Avenue and Kingsbury Street of late, National Grid has said its gas main replacement work will end this month. Charlotte McCormack, spokeswoman for National Grid, told Wellesley Patch the work at both sites is on pace to be completed during the third week of August barring a work stoppage due to inclement weather. The work at both areas involve the replacement of cast iron gas mains with plastic ones, she said. “They’re less susceptible to erosion and corrosion,” she said. The works is part of National Grid’s Asset Replacement program.
