New Center at Newton-Wellesley Hospital to Aid Sexual Assault Victims
The pilot program is being funded through federal grant money.
Federal funding to the tune of $3.3 million will go to create a health center at Newton-Wellesley Hospital to better help victims of sexual assault, both locally and nationally. The Massachusetts Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Telenursing Center, which will be located at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, will provide 24-hour services to victims of sexual assault, according to an Associated Press report on the Boston Herald website. The telenursing center will also offer consultation services to doctors and nurses around the country who don't routinely treat victims of sexual assault, the report says.
