State Police Bring Vehicle Chase to an End in Brookline

Brookline and State Police arrest a Watertown man after an eastbound chase down route 9 through Wellesley early this morning. The Driver is currently under police guard at Beth Israel Hospital.

Early this morning, Natick Police attempted to stop a man driving a 2012 Toyota SUV on Route 9. The driver then fled west, leading local and state police on a chase through Wellesley which ended after the driver crashed into a State police cruiser and sideswiped one from Brookline.  The driver, Ender Durgut, 39 of School Street in Watertown, was arrested and charged with various driving violations, including negligent operation, failing to stop, and leaving the scene of a crash. Coyotes a Recent Problem in The Suburbs

Boston.com columnist Alex Beam suggests one way to handle suburban coyotes.

With a recent report of a coyote sighting in the Boston suburbs, one Boston.com columnist has offered a suggestion on how to deal with these sometimes-urban wild animals. Columnist Alex Beam mentions Wellesley in a column, "They shoot coyotes, don't they?" posted today on Boston.com. In the article, Beam makes reference to a Brookline incident Dec. 29 in which a citizen spotted a coyote in her driveway. Beam refers to Wellesley as one of the suburban towns which could possibly deal with a coyote problem.
