Boston Magazine on Motsenigos’ Death: ‘There Has to Be Some Accountability’

No charges have been filed in the incident that resulted in the death of Alexander Motsenigos Aug. 24.

There have been no charges filed in the Aug. 24 Weston Road crash which resulted in the death of cyclist Alexander Motsenigos, and one local publication’s blog says there it’s time for some “accountability.” Boston Magazine’s Boston Daily blog section features a post calling the investigation into the incident slow and the facts confusing. One of the first facts to come out in the incident was that both an 18-wheel truck and cyclist were driving northbound at the same time on Weston Road when the crash happened. "It’s perplexing that two people could be traveling side-by-side on the same street at the same time, and one could end up killed while the other drives away unaware," the blog, written by Casey Lyons, says. The roads are too narrow for bicyclists and automobile traffic. That's the real problem here. There needs to be new construction to allow for the ever increasing population of distance bicyclists. More bike trails and wider roads. Common sense. There will be many more accidents like this because the current infrastructure is extremely dangerous for two-wheelers.   more ›

Boston Magazine Names Winston Flowers Among Best of Boston 2012

The magazine features 291 winners in a variety of categories at the end of July.

The local branch of Winston Flowers made Boston Magazine’s elite list of the Best of Boston 2012. Boston Magazine published a sneak peak of a few of the total 291 winners between July 23 and July 27. Winston Flowers was named July 24 post titled the “Suburbs.” It won for “Best Florist, West.” Wellesley readers picked Winston Flowers in our Best Florist contest last spring.
