Rte. 9 Driver Arrested, Charged with Driving Without License for 5th Time Since September

Police pulled over a motorist last week because his vehicle’s license plates were obscured, and he was found to have been an immediate driving threat, according to officials. Austin Ray Gonsalves, 25, of 89 Park St., New Bedford was arrested Nov. 2 on Route 9 after police learned that he had been charged for driving after his license had been suspended four times since September, according to Wellesley Police Lt. Marie Cleary. Gonsalves' license was revoked and he was considered an “immediate threat,” Cleary said. Police also found Gonsalves to be in possession of less that one ounce of marijuana and fireworks.

Swerving Motorist Pulled Over on Washington Street, Charged with OUI

Police officers arrested a driver on an OUI charge after they pulled him over for swerving all over Washington Street last week. Robert M. Stoddard, 75, of 18 Lanark Road, Wellesley, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol among other charges after a Wellesley Police officer observed him drive over the double yellow line and back over the right side fog line on Washington Street Oct. 3.

Boston Man Steals Babson Student’s Pants, Other Belongings

A Boston man was arrested last week after he admitted to police that he’d stolen the pants of a showering Babson College student. Jamaree Anthony Bonnette, 19, of 625 Parker St., Boston was charged with two counts of larceny from a building, two counts of larceny over $250 and conspiracy Sept. 25 after police caught up with him in near the Wellesley Country Club and he admitted to the theft. According to Wellesley Police Lt. Marie Cleary, Bonnette admitted to stealing items from the Babson College Webster Center locker room in the past. In this incident, Bonnette, who is not a student of the college, stole the student’s jeans, but did not take items that were reported to be in the jeans’ pockets. Police ID Shoplifter on West Side Mart Surveillance Video

A Salem man was arrested last week when police identified him shoplifting items from West Side Mart on Route 9. Kenneth James Austin, 25, of 57 Loring St. Apt. #2, Salem was charged with two counts of shoplifting by stealing merchandise, third offense, malicious or wanton damager or defacement of property related to an outstanding warrant after police identified him committing a crime on West Side Mart surveillance footage Sept. 15. Wellesley Police spokeswoman Lt. Marie Cleary said Austin was being detained at the West Side Mart Sept. 17, but had fled the area as cops were en route. On Sept. 19, police found Austin working at a nearby construction site. Police determined Austin stole an item from the gas station’s convenience store on …

Natick Man Arrested at Work, Charged With Possession of Oxycontin With Intent to Distribute

Serving a warrant, police arrested a Natick man who was holding pills and other drugs last week. Cesar J. Alarcon, 31, of 1 Keane Road, Natick was arrested at his place of work in Wellesley Aug. 30, according to Wellesley Police records clerk Sue Wicklund. He was charged with possession of a variety of drugs with intent to distrubute. Wellesley detectives went to Alarcon’s job to serve a warrant issued Aug. 29 for his arrest out of Dedham District Court on possession of a Class C substance, according to Wicklund. After placing Alarcon in custody, police searched him and found two 40-mg. Oxycontin pills, marijuana, marijuana-smoking paraphernalia and a “designer drug,” Wicklund said. Driver Pulled Over for Illegal Passing, Arrested on Warrant-Related Charges

David Schachter, 54, of 2020 Elmwood Ave., Providence was arrested in Wellesley last week on warrant-related charges after he was pulled over for illegal passing. Schachter, who was driving on Route 9 eastbound Aug. 31, passed an officer on routine patrol in the area and neither “slowed down nor moved to the left,” according to Wellesley Police records clerk Sue Wicklund. The officer pulled Schachter over and learned there was a warrant out for Schachter’s arrest for motor vehicle offenses.

Police Find Man ‘Yelling and Screaming’ After Physical Altercation Benjamin T. Howard, 19, of 14 Greylock Road, Wellesley was arrested last week after he had a reported physical altercation. Police were dispatched to Howard’s residence May 23, where they saw him on the side of the road, according to Wellesley Police records clerk Sue Morse. “He was yelling and screaming,” Morse said. Police arrested Howard, who was charged with simple assault and battery. Man Arrested at Central Street Business Jimmy James Cyr, 42, of 20 Tucker St., Natick was arrested last week on warrant-related charges after police received an anonymous tip he was working in Wellesley. Police received an anonymous phone call May 23 about a person working at a business …

Driver Pulled Over for Failing to Travel in Right Lane, Arrested for Lack of License, Warrant A driver was pulled over last week for failing to travel in the right lane despite opportunities to do so. Wellesley Police Officer Nate Derby was on patrol on Route 9 Jan. 12 when he observed a vehicle which “remained in left lane even though right lane was available,” according to Wellesley Police records clerk Sue Morse. “It was not overtaking other vehicles traveling in the left lane ahead of him,” she said reading from the original report. Derby pulled the vehicle over and asked the driver, Jewil E. Guerrero, 22 from Jamaica Plain, for his license and registration. Gurrero told Derby his driver’s license had been suspended. The Wellesley Hills Congregational Church will host its annual pumpkin patch beginning Oct. 15. The Wellesley Police Department reported a caretaker was allegedly writing checks to herself in the name of the elderly woman she was caring for. Police also reported that a man was charged with kidnapping following a tussle with police.

Man Arrested on Warrant while Driving Someone Else’s Vehicle; Vehicle’s Owner Arrested on Warrant Too A Milton man with a warrant out for his arrest was caught last week driving a vehicle for which the rightful owner had no insurance. Officer Conor Ashe, on patrol near Abbott Road Sept. 22, saw Galen R. Fischer, 52, driving a black station wagon with an expired registration, according to a query. The officer pulled Fischer over and found out there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest for “miscellaneous ordinances and bylaw violations,” according to Lt. Marie Cleary of the Wellesley Police Department. He was arrested and the vehicle was impounded. The registered owner of the vehicle, Veronica L. Wilkerson, 38, of Roslindale went to the…
