Licensed to Stop While on patrol at about 3:30 a.m. on May 7, police noticed a vehicle which reportedly failed to stop at the Wellesley Avenue intersection with Brookside Road. Officer Dennehy pulled the driver over and requested the license and registration. The driver gave him a foreign license. A query determined that the driver's right to drive in Mass. had been revoked. This information was listed under a number assigned on a previous instance where the driver had been pulled over. Former high school teacher Pat Conaway sees real hope in the young people who help him clean the area's trails, waterways and roadways.
Pat Conaway admits he is "kind of a nut" about the environment, so when he retired from teaching in 2008, it didn't take long for him to find a number of productive ways to spend his time. "I wanted to get people fired up about the environment, to try to encourage citizens to get involved locally," said Conaway, founder of Big Hearts, Little Feet. A nearly constant presence on area roadways, trails and waterways, Conaway can be found leading groups of volunteers, including many students, to pick up trash, improve trails and remove invasive species. From beer cans to soda and coffee cups, trash tossed by the roadside washes into local rivers and, if left alone, eventually finds its way to the ocean, where scientists have found plastic …

New location for Precinct H polling announced as well.
The time for voting absentee in the upcoming Special Election is, well, any time until before the election. The time to pick up your ballots is now! The Town Clerk's office sent a note on Friday reminding residents to fill out and submit their absentee ballot applications. The deadline is noon on June 24, which is the day before the election. The application may be filed by mail or by e-mail, and must include the voter's name and an address where the ballot can be sent. There is an application form available on the Secretary of the Commonwealth's website. For more information, see the Town Clerk's FAQ on the upcoming primary. Over the weekend, Babson College in Wellesley graduated the class of 2013. The speakers were Patrick Awuah Jr., Founder and President, Ashesi University College in Ghana, Kip Tindell, CEO of The Container Store and Saras Sarasvathy, Associate Professor at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
