According to Experian Marketing Services, web traffic to real estate websites jumped 25% from December 2013 to January 2014, with a whopping 364 million visits! The Internet has become the new curb appeal, so if your home hasn’t been listed online yet, you’re missing out on millions of potential buyers seeing it.
Additionally, mortgage rates dropped over the last month back toward 4% for traditionally structured, qualified loans, sweetening the deal for homebuyers whom are eager to buy now. But the window of opportunity is rapidly closing—the fear of mortgage rates creeping back to their normal levels, coupled with heightened competition for homes on the market that ultimately drives housing prices higher, is very real. Buyers are out there and ready to make a deal before the spring selling season launches into high gear.
