Hungrytown to Perform at Wellesley Free Library

SATURDAY EVENTS

8 a.m.: The Advisory Committee will meet in the Kingsbury Room of Wellesley Police Department. Special Town Meeting articles will be discussed.

9 a.m.: The Wellesley Marketplace, held at Wellesley Middle School, is a juried artisan gift show. The offerings of over 170 shopkeepers and artists – local and from around the country – are showcased to more than 2,200 holiday shoppers each year. This popular holiday collection features gifts for the home, boutique-style children's apparel and toys, gourmet treats, artisan jewelry and other specialty merchandise.


SUNDAY EVENTS

2 to 3:15 p.m.: Hungrytown will perform a concert in the Wakelin Room of Wellesley Free Library. Hungrytown is the musical and married duo of Rebecca Hall and Ken Anderson, modern representatives of traditions-based folk music. They have released two acclaimed CDs, Hungrytown (2008) and Any Forgotten Thing (2011), and their songs have been performed by artists including Nashville songwriting legend David Olney and bluegrass veterans the Virginia Ramblers. Hungrytown's music has also appeared on several television shows, including the Independent Film Channel's hit series, “Portlandia.” This concert is free and open to the public.

2 to 4 p.m.: The Sunday Knitting Group will meet in the Arnold Room. This group is free and open to knitters of all levels. For more information, email Barbara Peacock-Coady at bpcoady@comcast.net
