8 a.m.: The Advisory Committee will meet at the Kingsbury room at Wellesley Police Station.

11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.: 'Art Matters' Lecture: Art Keeps Us Human will take place at Wellesley Free Library. This is a mini-history of western civilization through art, from the caves to the shuttle, to see and understand how art and civilization depend upon each other. Free and open to the public.

7:30 p.m.: Dance Republic will hold a grand opening bash and social dance party. It will be a night of social dancing, making new friends, reconnecting with old friends and just having a great time. Dress code is semi-formal. Coat check is available. No street shoes will be allowed. Entrance fee is $18.  


SUNDAY EVENTS

2 to 3 p.m.: Wellesley Theatre Project is going on tour. Be sure to catch WTP on Tour's debut performance at Wellesley Free Library. Drop in to enjoy an afternoon of singing and dancing for all ages. Featuring songs from “Annie Get Your Gun,” “You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown” and a special preview performance of a song from their upcoming show, “Aladdin Jr.”

2 to 4 p.m.: Sunday Knitting Group will meet to knit, chat, share and work on your knitting projects. This event is free and open to the public. New members are always welcome. For more information email Barbara Peacock-Coady, bpcoady@comcast.net.

2 to 3:30 p.m.: Korean pianist, Jayoung Kim will perform at Wellesley Free Library. Kim has established herself as a soloist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist in Asia, Europe and the United States. The program will include works by Beethoven, Liszt and Bizet-Horowitz. This event is free and open to the public.
