5 Things You Need to Know: Sleeping Beauty, Music Theory and More


1. There may be a bit of rain today. A 30 percent chance during the day, according to the National Weather Service, and a 60 percent chance in the evening. A high of 77ºF and a low of 64ºF, on this otherwise cloudy day.

2. If you want to get in shape, it's not just about exercise. Food helps, too. Get in Shape for Women in Wellesley is hosting a Nutrition Seminar with Bob Kaplan at 12:30 p.m. today. Owner Bob Kaplan is running the show, and will answer a host of questions.

3. You're not dreaming this: The Wellesley High School is presenting Disney's Sleeping Beauty, Kids! The show starts at 2 p.m. Tickets are priced $12 for adults and $6 for students and seniors, and are available at the door or online at www.wellesleytheatreproject.org

4. Regis College in Weston is doing performances on Fridays @ 3. This week: Bus Stop. A snowstorm traps a group of travelers at a bus stop overnight in a sheerful roadside diner. Please email wdwfridaysat3@gmail.com with your name, number of people, and the staged reading you will attend.

5. Do you speak music? If you want to learn a bit more about the language of notes and tones, then stop by the Plugged In Music Theory Clinic at Plugged In in Needham. From 7 to 8:30 p.m., the course is free. They'd like you to RSVP by "joining" the event on their Facebook page.
