Wellesley Middle School to Hold One-Act Plays

3. Selectmen and School Committee to review cash capital request

The Board of Selectmen will meet Tuesday, Nov. 12, 6:30 p.m. They will discuss the police lieutenant promotion and will meet with the School Committee to review FMD FY15 Cash Capital request.


4. Songs of Schubert and Schumann: Vocal Faculty Concert

Songs of Schubert and Schumann: Vocal Faculty Concert featuring Marion Dry, Gale Fuller and Andrea Matthews, with pianist Charles Fisk will take place 12:30 p.m. in Wellesley College’s Jewett Auditorium, 106 Central St., Wellesley. The program will include such well known songs as Gretchen am Spinnrade, Ganymede, Im Frühling, Nacht und Träume, Der Doppelgänger, and Standchen as well as Schumann’s complete Liederkreis, Op. 39, based on poems by the Romantic poet Joseph von Eichendorff. This event is free and open to the public. RSVP is recommended for seating.


5. Wellesley Middle School to hold one-act plays

Wellesley Middle School's fall one-act plays will take place in the auditorium Nov. 14 at 4:30 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. This year’s plays are “Wendy's Tale” and “The Education of Janet O'Malley.” Both shows deal in a humorous manner with the struggles that students face as they navigate the school world of test, papers, friendships and being a teenager.  Free admission. Donations will be accepted at the door. Refreshments will be for sale in the lobby.
