Road Race to Cause Traffic Delays Thanksgiving Day

The Turkey 5 road race may cause some backups this Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 28.

According to Wellesley Police Department, the run will start 8 a.m. from the 200 block area of Linden Street near the Roche Bros entrance. The road race has both a 5 mile and 5 kilometer course, with two start times, one at 8 a.m. and the second at 8:15 a.m. The courses will make their way through Wellesley Square on Central Street and on Washington Street near Grove. Part of the race also traverses the Wellesley College campus and Route 135. The race ends where it started on Linden Street.

Wellesley Police officers will be positioned along the race route, temporarily stopping traffic to allow the majority of runners to safely pass. Linden Street will remain open, and will be detoured around the start and finish line. Most of the anticipated delays will be on Linden Street.
