Wellesley Pee Wee Hockey Team Wins Greater Boston League Championship

Wellesley Pee Wee A2 hockey took home a championship trophy over the weekend.

On Sunday March 11, the Wellesley Youth Hockey Pee Wee A2 team defeated the Brookline Warriors 6-1 to take the Greater Boston League championship.  The victory followed a 3-1 win over Somerville in the semi final game on Saturday.

The final game was tight and fast paced throughout for these two evenly matched teams.  The defense led by Shahen Hagen, Will Jackowitz and Justin Allinson kept Brookline at bay until the offense could get on track.  Brendan Dolan was tenacious and led all scorers with a hat trick.  Teddy Darcey was brilliant in goal in turning away 22 shots.  Liam Moran tallied the game winner when he stole the puck and scored on a break away.  Will Horblit and AJ Ranaldi also had strong games and scored for the Raiders.  Coach Crawshaw added, “This was a great group of players who played hard and unselfishly.  We saved the best for last!”

Other team members include Aidan Green, Luke Conti, Jack Crawshaw, Patrick Rourke, Owen O’Connor, Matty Behman, Henry Kapples, Joshua Mould, and Hugh Callahan.  The team was coached by Jason Crawshaw and assisted by Bill Darcey and Bob Ranaldi.
