WHS Ranked No. 5 in State

Boston Magazine’s annual list ranks Massachusetts high schools based on a variety of factors.

is ranked fifth on Boston Magazine’s recent rankings of the top 50 Massachusetts high schools.

Wellesley – listed as “Wellesley Senior High” – boasts a 99 percent graduation rate and sends 95 percent of students to college each year, according to the list.

Wellesley is tied with Hingham for the most sports (36), being edged out only by Brookline, which has 40.

Great stats. of course this ranking probably does not consider that Wellesley likely serves more children from lower income households then the towns "above us". That is not to say these students do not excel but stats show us that scores are affected overall. I am proud of the tradition we have inthis town of supporting low income housing and the METCO program. Simple rankings do not tell the whole story. Hats off to all the great educators of this wonderful school district!
