Wellesley Teen Center Aims to Dress to Impress

First Wellesley Teen Center Dance and Activities night of the New Year welcomes teens from neighboring towns to join the festivities.


7th and 8th graders around town should pull out their finest duds, as the Teen Center invites you to Dress to Impress.

The Wellesley Teen Center is hosting a dance at the Middle School on Jan 12, and you can invite your friends. They are encouraging people to bring 7th and 8th graders from out of town, according to a press release. Entry is $5 at the door for Wellesley students, and $10 for kids from out of town.

The evening, starting at 7 p.m., will have a live D.J., Wii, Open gym and Ping Pong, and run until 9:30 p.m. Kids will be at the dance until it ends, unless they are picked up by a parent, from the release.

The release also says that kids already going to Wellesley Middle School will already know how to dress and behave (as behavior and dress code guidelines apply). Kids also need a permission slip, which is available on the Teen Center site, or to the right.

The Wellesley Teen Center announces that the next dance and activities night for the Middle School will be a 7th and 8th graders ONLY event on Saturday, January 12th from 7:00-9:30. All 7th and 8th graders who attend middle school or who reside in Wellesley are invited. The theme will be “New year’s Celebration – Dress to Impress”. Come join the fun of a live D.J., Wii, Open gym and Ping Pong.

Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase for $1.

Each student is encouraged to bring a friend in the 7th or 8th grade from another town. Admission is $5 for Wellesley students and $10 for friends.

Drop off and pick up will be at the Wellesley Middle School auditorium entrance on Donizetti St. No one will be permitted to leave the event until 9:30 p.m., except with aparent or designated adult. Wellesley Middle School behavior and dress code guidelines apply.

If this is a child’s first visit to a Teen Center event (including friends), a signed permission slip must be shown at the door. A permission slip can be downloaded from the Recreation Department website at http://www.wellesleyma.gov/Pages/WellesleyMA_Recreation/TeenCenterIndex.
