Wellesley Teacher Parlays 'You're Not Special' Speech Into New Book

David McCullough, Jr. delivered a graduation address in 2012 that went viral.

David McCullough, Jr., the Wellesley High School English teacher who earned international attention for a 2012 graduation speech, has released a book.

In the speech, McCullough told students, "You are not special." A video of the address went viral.

It earned McCullough a book deal. "You Are Not Special ... And Other Encouragements" was released last month.

He discussed his new book with Fox 25.

McCullough, a longtime Wellesley High teacher, is the son of Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David McCullough.
