Superintendent Proposes Starting School in August

In a letter sent home to parents Friday, Wellesley Public School superintendent Dr. David Lussier recommended that children start school Aug. 27 next year.

According to Boston.com, the proposal comes after Wellesley officials invited parents to forums to discuss how the district drafts each school year's calendar, and what they could do better. Parents were further encouraged to attend tonight’s School Committee meeting to share their thoughts on the matter. The meeting starts 7 p.m. in the Juliani Room of Town Hall.

If school does start a week earlier than usual, the estimated last day of school would be June 19.
