President at Babson College Stepping Down

Next year, Babson College's 12th president is quitting, at the end of the current school year.

After 4 years, Babson College is saying farewell to their twelfth president, the college reported last night.

Babson College President Len Schlesinger announced to the community that he is stepping down yesterday evening. He will continue to run things until the end of the current academic year.

In his farewell letter, Schlesinger writes, "These years have been extraordinary ones for me, and represent the highlight of my professional career in so many different ways. I am truly grateful to the entire Babson community for your trust, your partnership, and your support."

The search to replace Len Schlesinger will be led by Babson Trustee, Gov. Craig Benson. It will begin immediately, kick off with listening sessions scheduled for this week with the Babson community.

In a press release from the college, Chair of the Board of Trustees, Joseph L. Winn stated, "Five years after his arrival, Babson has never been in a stronger position by almost every measure. The College has joined the ranks of America’s elite schools and the opportunities that lie ahead for Babson have never been more exciting."
