The Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School District is looking to fill an empty seat, and they are looking to Wellesley in the final three.
On Thursday, the interim search sub-committee of the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School Committee, tasked to select finalists for the school's search for an interim superintendent/principal, voted to recommend three finalists for this position, and advanced the District's search toward its next stage.
"We had a terrific pool of interested candidates to draw from and we are excited about these finalists we have recommended," said sub-committee chairman, Kevin Matthews. "We are confident they each have the experience, expertise and qualifications needed to help our school continue to perform at the highest level."
The candidates, all of whom have superintendent experience, who were recommended to fill the position are:
- Bella Wong, previously the superintendent at the Wellesley Public School District.
- Herbert Levine, most recently with the Peabody Public School District.
- Edward Malvey, currently superintendent at the Monson Public School District.
. The resignation came after a tumultuous year for the school department, which began last March with news that the school lunch account was in arrears by more than $100,000 and included a professional review showing sloppy accounting practices in the business office and most recently questions arising over hiring practices after a middle school custodian was charged with stealing computers and jewelry from the building.

Malvey was hired as interim superintendent for Monson last November. According to MassLive.com, Malvey has been an educator for more than 40 years, serving as a superintendent, interim superintendent, principal and ranking administrator in various public school districts in Massachusetts and Connecticut throughout his long career.
The sub-committee of the Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School Committee consisted of three school committee members, two faculty members, an administrator and a parent.
