Community Forum on Wellesley Public School Redistricting to Be Held Today

A community forum will take place this morning so Wellesley town officials can receive feedback on the draft policy elements for redistricting Wellesley Public Schools.

This was a topic in discussion at Thursday’s school committee meeting.

“Perhaps the most important takeaway from our efforts to date has been to rule out any potential benefits in redrawing current attendance zones,” said Wellesley Public Schools superintendent David Lussier. “Instead, based on the best information we have available, we believe that a policy response is the most effective path forward to address the aforementioned challenges.”

More information on the meeting will be posted Wednesday.

The forum will be held 9 to 11 a.m. today in the Great Hall of Town Hall. Participants are asked to park in the public lot on Cameron Street. Another forum will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21 in the Wellesley High School cafeteria.

If you cannot attend one of these meetings, feedback can be submitted by emailing redistricting@wellesley.k12.ma.us.
