Street Cred Mama

Cool factor seeps out of my pores daily.

I live in the suburbs.  Not cool.   I am a mother of three, (that part is ABSOLUTELY REALLY COOL), but being a mama means that daily there is a potential that I could be dealing with all kinds of scary gross bodily things, from other bodies!  Boogers & Poop - Not cool.

That is why when I stumble upon something really genuinely cool and hip, a really big young thang smile spreads across my face.

Bodega in Boston is responsible for my latest smile.

It is not a easy store to find, or get into, but once in you will have a ridiculously hard time deciding on any one pair of shoes, or remembering that you live in the burbs.  Bodega is filled with color, style and cuts in running shoes that your imagination hasn't even come up with yet.

Rap beats fill the room, rich beautiful wood coats the walls, complete with an old English library ladder on wheels to reach the bags and hats way up high.  The clientele is understated in that manner that screams to everyone else that the cool quota has been reached.  Like in a Pharell manner when he was just in the Nerds.

And yet when reversecommuter squeals really loudly "I just had a major Cinderella moment" they all just stop and smile knowingly.  'Cause I am cool.  And so are my awesome new kicks.
