Fashion & Finance Friday!

What is it about Friday that instantaneously adds a big smile?!
NYFW is over, LFW is began today. Snow to rain, fabulous fashion to fabulous fashion.
Marc Jacobs ended the shows in NYC, and he did not disappoint! Rich luxe colored furs, caramels, winter whites, mod patterns sequins, a little lace, some hand stitched organza and quite possibly some of the most beautiful dresses presented in a long time. Almost like a celebration of his emancipation from other lines (Louis Vuitton) to give his line the love it demands! Ralph Lauren's collection was dreamy and rich, a line up of soft grey and purple and cream floated down the runway, dripping in cashmere, satin and wool crepes.

reversecommuter was hoping Ralph (of Ralph Lauren), would end the show in one of those INCREDIBLE U.S. Olympic uniform sweaters, but alas his only nod to the snowy sports celebration was to be found on his feet!

Tod's owner and all round favorite Italian patriarch (click here for why) is having a little spat with Fiat, or to be more specific with Fiat heir John "Yaki" Elkann, grandson to founder Gianni Agnelli. The two "gentlemen" are throwing insults at each other in the media (click here to have a giggle), in a war of words that starting over soccer (football in the rest of the world except the U.S.). The luxury Italian leather maker is also the owner of a soccer/football club in Italy, and it happens to be the main rival of the Fiat owned team.

I rigazzi sono rigazzi - that's "Boys will be boys" in Italian!

On that note, pop some prosecco while wearing your cutest weekend get-up and celebrate love over this Valentine weekend! xo reversecommuter
