Wellesley Adds New Voter Precinct, First Since 1952

Wellesley now has eight voter precincts.

For the first time in 60 years, Wellesley has a new voter precinct.

Voters in Precinct H, which covers a section of land in the center of Wellesley, will vote at Sprague Elementary School along with voters of Precinct B. This is the first time the town had to add a precinct since 1952.

A new precinct was needed because Wellesley reached a population of 28,000 with the most recent census. Federal law says no precinct in the United States can have a population of over 4,000 residents, according to Town Clerk Kathy Nagle.
