Weekend, Night Bus Service May Be In the Works

After a public forum last week, town officials agreed to ask local transportation leaders to add a weekend and night service to the new bus route in Wellesley, according to Boston.com.

The new Route 8 shuttle bus will run from Natick through Wellesley to the Green Line. At a public forum last week, about six residents asked if the bus could run on weekends and at night in addition to daytime hours, boston.com said. Officials agreed to bring the idea to local transportation leaders.

The bus route will take off from Natick's community-senior center on East Central Street and will continue through Wellesley from Route 135 to Route 16. The final stop is as the Woodland Station on the Green Line in Newton.

The fare for a one-way ride is $1.50, boston.com said. Discounts are available.
