Voter Turnout Low But Steady

There has been a steady stream of voters during the morning and early afternoon hours.

As Primary Thursday approaches the late afternoon hours, precincts in Wellesley and Weston have low but steady turnouts.

The , the polling place for Precinct G, had 128 ballots cast before the 2 o’clock hour.

At , the polling location for Precincts B and H, a total of 368 voters have cast ballots – 168 in H and 200 in B – before the 2 o’clock hour.

Diane Hall, warden for Precinct H, said they were averaging about one voter every three minutes.

In Weston, 226 total voters had cast ballots at Westgate Church, the polling location for Precincts 3 and 4. Precinct 3 had 99 and 4 had 127 before the 2 o’clock hour.

The race for the 14th Norfolk House of Representatives seat is contested. for the Democratic nomination. As there is no Republican challenger, the winner will represent Wellesley, Weston and Precinct 4 in Wayland. The seat’s coverage area includes Precinct 10 in Natick, but this section will no longer fall under the seat’s coverage area beginning with the new term.
