Town Name Cleared in Drowning of 10-Year-Old Last Summer

A review of Morses Pond cleared the town's name in the drowning of Alexander Glennon, 10, according to The Boston Globe.

The review noted that the town should improve the marking of deep areas and testing of young swimmers, the Globe said. However, the drowning of Glennon was not something the town could have prevented, according to the Globe.

Glennon, a New Hampshire resident, was found on June 1 after drowning in the pond.

“It’s just one of those terrible tragedies,” Police Chief Terrence Cunningham said in the Globe article. “There’s always inherent danger when in an outdoor environment like that. It’s virtually impossible to mitigate every single issue. You just can’t do it.”
