Marathon Runners, Charities Needed

Wellesley is looking for runners to participate in the Boston Marathon this year, according to boston.com. Town officials will provide running permits for the marathon next spring to anyone who qualified and can raise over $4,000 for charity. The town is also looking for nonprofits in need of money raised by runners, boston.com said.

Runners interested in a permit should pay the $325 marathon entry fee and raise at least $4,000 by May 1, 2014 for a nonprofit that benefits the town or a Wellesley organization, boston.com said.

Applications can be found on the town's website. The deadline for the applications is Nov. 1.
