Beer and Wine Sales May Come to Wellesley

Wellesley is a dry town, but may not be for long. The Board of Selectmen recently voted to ask Town Meeting members about selling beer and wine in town, according to Boston.com.

Town Meeting members will be asked to vote on an article that will ask state Legislature for permission to sell beer and wine at grocery stores and specialty shops in town, the Boston.com article said. If Town Meeting members and the Legislature approve the article, residents will then vote on a town-wide ballot question.

Selectmen will have control over the number of licenses, who they are given to and any other regulations.
