WPD Flags at Half Staff in Honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day

The United States celebrates National Police Week each year during the week in which May 15 falls.

The ’s front lawn flags are at half staff today in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day, celebrated annually on May 15 throughout the United States.

The WPD color guard participates in the Natick Police Department’s annual memorial service, according to Wellesley Police Lt. Marie Cleary.

The commemorative day was signed into law Oct. 1, 1962 by President John F. Kennedy.
