The following reports were provided by the Wellesley Police Department. Charges where mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

The Wellesley Police received a tip from other law enforcement agencies indicating that a man was going around to area churches and asking to see a pastor. He would claim to be a veteran, and pressure church staff into giving them money. The Village Church reported a man matching his description had come in and asked to see the pastor.

At about 1 p.m., the Church called Wellesley police and Officer Hughes was dispatched to the church. They said he left when told the pastor was not present.

Officer Porier found the party described, David Dunn of Leominster, 43, and confirmed he was the man who had gone into the church. He also confirmed that the man had an outstanding warrant from Concord District Court for defrauding an innkeeper. He was arrested, charged and transported to Wellesley Police Headquarters on that warrant.
