Wellesley Police Log: A Backseat Driver and Warrants Served

The following reports were provided by the Wellesley Police Department from Nov. 26 - 30. Charges where mentioned do not indicate a conviction. 

Backseat (Suspended) Driver

Chris Goebel, 33 of Hudson. As Officer Popovski was conducting traffic enforcement on Oakland Street, he reported seeing a vehicle traveling faster than 40 mph. According to his cruiser's instruments, the vehicle was traveling 52 mph. When he pulled the vehicle over, he saw the driver making furtive movements and leaning toward the passenger on his approach. When police spoke to the driver, who had moved to the back seat, the driver told them he had a suspended license. The driver, Goebel, was arrested and charged with speeding and driving on a suspended license. During an inventory of the vehicle, police also found an opened container of alcohol under the seat. 

Warrant Arrest 

Barton Road resident Allen Tsang, 24. Police officer Derby saw a man he recognized, and believed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He confirmed the warrant, and arrested and charged Tsang on that outstanding warrant. Tsang was taken to the station and later bailed. 

Knock Knock, Warrant Arrest

44-year-old Gerard Kelly of Abbott Road. Detective Connelly went to the Abbott Road address to serve and outstanding warrant. Kelly answered the door, and was arrested and charged on the warrant, and transported to Dedham court.
