Poor Parking but "Fine" Driving

Wellesley Police were dispatched to Washington Street for a reported erratic driver. The reporting caller said both vehicles had pulled over, and she would identify the vehicle to police.

When Officer Rowe arrived on the scene, and pulled up next to the reportedly erratic silver vehicle, which had stopped and was obstructing traffic, it pulled into the road. Rowe then pulled the vehicle over, and approached the car. The driver did not look at her until she tapped on the window, and apparently looked surprised.

The driver asked what was the matter, according to police reports she spoke with slurred and slow speech, and it took her a while to find the registration for the car. When the officer explained why she had pulled the car over, the driver insisted she was driving fine. After determining the driver, identified as Amy Lee, 62 of Glen Road, had been driving under the influence of alcohol, she was arrested and charged with operating under the influence.

Lee was later released on personal recognizance.
