Two Injured in Serious Weekend Crash

A single car struck a median barrier on Route 9 at Route 128 before 4:30 a.m. Sunday, according to an announcement on the Wellesley Police website.

The vehicle was extensively damaged, and police used the Jaws of Life to free the victims inside the vehicle, according to the announcement. Two of the four people in the car were transported to Boston hospitals.

The vehicle was traveling eastbound on Route 9 when it struck the barrier and crossed over into the westbound lanes, according to the announcement.

Police expect to file charges against the driver for multiple motor vehicle violations.
