Police: Kimlo Road Fire Under Control

Department warns Rte. 9 east is still blocked, warns motorists to find alternate routes.

The Wellesley Police Department has advised residents the fire at 41 Kimlo Road is under control, but stressed major delays continue on Rte. 9 east. 

Rte. 9 eastbound traffic is solid from the Natick line to Rt. 16, according to police.  Rockland Street remains closed.

Wellesley Fire responded to the two-story house fire at 3 a.m., blocking Rte. 9 east.

The Wellesley Police Department alerted residents to the 3 a.m., three - alarm fire via the Nixle e-mail alert system at 4:47 a.m. and again at 6:09 a.m. Each time, officials warned motorists away from the area and informed the public to expect major delays.
