The is investigating a string of overnight car break-ins, according to a Wellesley Police alert.
Today, the department received reports of car break-ins on Elm Street, Edgewater Drive, Fuller Road, Crestwood Drive and Woodlawn Oval, according to the alert. Loose change and money were taken.
“Some vehicles showed signs of being gone through, but items were not taken or removed,” the alert said.
Police are urging residents to lock car doors when leaving a vehicle unattended.
“It only takes a thief a minute to go through your car and be gone,” the alert said. “A locked car door is the best prevention against theft.”
A similar set of break-ins occured in the same neighborhood over a two-night span about a month ago, the alert said.
