Police Arrest Paving Solicitor Who Had No Permit

The following information was supplied by the Wellesley Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police arrested a Middleborough man on Hardy Road after he admitted to paving driveways in Wellesley without a town permit last week.

William Peck Stanley, 20, of 248 Everett St., Middleborough was charged with soliciting without a town permit Oct. 9 after police learned Stanley had solicited to pave two residents’ driveways without contacting the town of Wellesley or Dig Safe, according to Wellesley Police Lt. Marie Cleary.

Stanley, when asked by police, said he obtained on job earlier in the day on Weston Road by ringing a home’s doorbell and asking the residents if they would like their driveway paved, according to Cleary.
