Man Charged With Possession of Dangerous Weapon After Traffic Stop
The following reports were provided by the Wellesley Police Department. Charges where mentioned do not indicate a conviction.
On Sunday, Aug. 11, at 5:10 p.m. officer James Lindelof was enforcing traffic regulations on Route 9. After observing a vehicle in the area he checked the registration and learned that the owner had a suspended license. Lindelof stopped the vehicle and arrested Karlo Melendez, 28, of 1000 Governors Dr., Apt. 6, Winthrop on the charge of operating with a suspended license. While checking the vehicle’s inventory before it was towed a double edged knife was found in the vehicle. Melendez was additionally charged with possession of a dangerous weapon.
