Makeover! Wellesley Police Department Gets New Uniforms

New uniforms for the police department went into service on August 15.

Last week, the Wellesley Police got a wardrobe change.

The Wellesley Police announced new uniforms, which went into service on August 15, on their website earlier this week. The new uniforms are dark blue, and the WPD patch on the uniforms are darker than on the previous outfits. There are new brass pieces on the collar and rank insignias as well.

According to the WPD Website, these uniforms are made of the same material and in the same way as those of the Los Angeles Police Department, and the darker blue color is more in line with other law enforcement agencies--which will give a more uniform look when WPD works with other municipalities.

The French blue uniforms have been in use since the late '90s.
